This is my weekly hop where I post a prompt and you get to write to it on your blog - come back here and add it to my linky and then we all get to go read what you wrote!
I started Pondering with a Purpose because -- simply put -- I am a writer - - that is what I do (I just can't help myself)! And although I love following all the hops, I wanted to see if I could bring out some creativity in not only myself, but some of my blogger friends as well.
The rules are really easy:
1. Grab the Pondering with a Purpose Badge (in my sidebar)
2. Look at the week's prompt
3. Post something on your blog that relates to the prompt - it can be a story, a poem, a picture -- anything you want it to be.
4. Come back here and add the URL from your post to the linky list below.
5. Go check out the other bloggers who have added their links to the list.
6. AND most of all.... Have fun!
This Week's prompt is: Showing Love
What is your favorite thing to do to show love?
You know the old adage - actions speak louder than words. Well saying "I Love You" is one thing, but I think that it is critical that those around use know we love them. As children we are taught to 'love one another'.... but that is not the kind of love I'm talking about.
If you could never utter those words again, would your loved ones know you love them?
When you are in love with someone you cannot stop thinking
about them. You become a part of them and they of you.

Sometimes showing love can be as simple as a phone call in the middle of the day or a touch as you pass by each other. But what about love that is not a romantic love? Do the same rules apply? My answer…. Absolutely! I love picking up the phone and hearing one of my kids on the other end, or having the ability to pick up the phone and tell them that I love them and am thinking of them. When they were younger and were living at home I would do special things to show my love.
I guess what I did was give them a safe, warm environment to
grow up in … and isn’t that the greatest expression of love available?

Oh yeah... and that old saying, "Love means never having to say you're sorry." Sorry --- I completely disagree with that! I think love means having the ability to admit that you're wrong and made a mistake and still continue on.....

I made sure there favorite clothes were always clean.
I would make favorite meals – even if I didn’t care for them.
I allowed friends to come over because I knew that would
make them happier.
I listened to everything they ever had to say.
When they were sick they got to choose whatever they wanted
from the grocery store.

How about you?
I'd love a comment, or a linked up post... or better yet... BOTH!
Happy Pondering
