Halloween quiz about me

I have been joining my friends Heather at Acting Balanced and Wayne at Touristic for their Monday Quiz about me. You should join too! It is really easy:
Acting BalancedThey post FOUR QUESTIONS that everyone can answer and then you have the option to add a fifth question of your own for those who are visiting your blog to answer in the comment section, along with commenting on the four standard questions you answered!

1. Do you consider Halloween a holiday for children or adults?  I consider it a holiday for children. I think that when costumes become too 'sexual' as a lot are... it is no longer a 'fun day'

2. At what age should children stop trick or treating?
I think by the time a child no longer wants to be treated as a child they should not be trick or treating.

3. What are your plans for Halloween?
I used to love to decorate my house and see the kids come and go...  but since moving three years ago I don't get any kids.... so no plans :(

4. What frightens you?
I do not like scary movies....I don't like things that come jumping out at me... but the one thing that frightens me more than anything else is the thought that one of my children will pre-decease me.

And now my question:
5.  Is there anything else about Halloween that you love or hate?
I hate seeing all the wasted pumpkins and the destruction that goes with it.... AND halloween has become so commercialized!

  1. I hate that halloween has become so sexualized...I really do not need to see a sexy nun. Thanks for participating in the MQAM, hope to see you again next week.

  2. Daughter showed me a "sexy nun" costume online. We both thought it was disgusting.

  4. I agree with you, I think Halloween has become more about adults and less about children. I enjoy seeing the children dress up as their favorite super hero or cartoon character. I hate when adults try to outdo them. I hate all the scary aspects of it too.

  5. We don't celebrate Halloween in Japan, where we live, though there are some young people who imitate American customs and have Halloween-themed parties at this time of the year.

Watching a few American TV drama series, I can tell how "important" this annual event must be to the people in North America...

I have never experienced Halloween myself, I can't tell what I love or hate about it.

    1. When my daughter moved to Germany I realized how 'americanized' hallowween is....not a celebration for all.
It original started as All Hallow's Eve.... a day to remember the dead.... boy have we gotten off course

  6. I so agree with you about the not appropriate costumes. I'm all for having fun, but keep it clean no matter what age someone might be. You are right too, Halloween has become so commercialized. So different from when I was growing up!
