I often join Ramona on her Friendship Friday...
and I have been rather particular lately about her subjects. I don't tend to participate if I don't feel that I have anything productive to offer to her topic.
I could not stay away from this week's topic: Extraordinary moments....
My eldest son is 23 years old... well actually 23 years, 5 months and 11 days to be exact... does that lead you to understand the first extraordinary moment in my life? I never expected that becoming a mother would change my life FOREVER! I still... to this day... remember the feeling I had when I held him in my arms for the first time. I hate to say that I don't remember that for my second and third... but that does not mean that I love them any less... in fact... I love them as much if not more! But that does not negate the fact that my first was my first! That adrenaline high that over powered me after his birth will never be forgotten....
Of course each momentous occasion in each of their lives since then has also been extraordinary...but I have to say that the highlights of those are: my daughter's wedding.... she truly looked like a princess and we managed to pull it off with only 7 weeks to prepare... and my grandson's birth. That is the first time I had actually witnessed birth (from the other side) and I am so honored that my son's girlfriend allowed me to attend.
Other extraordinary moments would definitely include... my father's funeral... felt rather surreal....
and the first time I held an actual Brenda Youngerman novel in my hands. That was also a turning point in my life... but receiving positive feedback NEVER gets old....
I am really looking forward to reading every one else's extraordinary moments... Thanks Ramona for hosting this one!

The first time I read a Brenda Youngerman novel made a huge impact in my life as well :))
ReplyDeleteI love the pic of the 3 of them I have a few of mine like that as well, I did get to see the grandson being born but so far no weddings. Your daughter does look like a real live princess good job mom!
thanks Janice.... and I am sure that when you do attend the wedding you will feel the same way!
DeleteChildbirth is an extraordinary experience every time! At least, that's what I assume. I guess I'll have to let you know after I pop my second one out in March! Or April. Whenever she decides to grace us with her presence. If she's anything like me, she'll be two weeks late, and 10 pounds full of attitude! Haha
ReplyDeleteLOVE the attitude! and yes it was EVERY time!
DeleteGood luck with the new one!
I'm SO glad you joined us for this topic Brenda - I always love your insights! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is my pleasure to feature you once more on Friendship Friday at
