Coffee Chat - Bad Guys

So once again.... here I am going totally off line with Les at Time out For Mom

She hosts a weekly Coffee Chat
and this week her topic is: sharing our favourite villain I (cannot tell a lie) have visited all other participants to date and all of them with a film, book theme.... ME? I am going with "real life villains".

So... the first one that comes to mind has got to be Charles Manson.... I mean seriously, what is up with this guy? He is just down right creepy but still has followers... and EVERY time he is mentioned it ends up as front page news.... can't we just let him be gone by now?

Then of course.... the first 'good boy' turned bad serial killer ... Ted Bundy. Who knew the boy next door could do such vile things? and get away with for so long??? How many movies have been written about him?

Can't do this without mentioning the creep Jeffrey Dahmer.... didn't get enough protein in regular food... had to invent a new food group?

But... for those of you now from Southern California.... you probably still know who he is... Scott Petersen.... Wouldn't divorce have been a better option? At least he'd be free and Lacey and Connor would still be around... but ... NO... he figured he could just get away with it!!

So are these my favorites? Not sure how criminals are favorited... but there legacies do seem to have carried forward... and for a list of other creeps:
Lizzy Borden
The Boston Strangler
The Menendez Brothers
Jack the Ripper
Aileen Wournos
BTK

and this list could go on forever.... but for now I will go hug my kids and be grateful I never met any of these people up close and personal!

  2. Being Canadian we hear less about some of the criminals in States however these sound really bad. Good take on today's topic.

  3. I was really hoping someone would do a segment on the real life bogie-men. So you were not really off topic at all.

Canada certainly has some baddies - some of whom I have met face-to-face (Bernado and Homolka - a married couple who raped, tortured and murdered 2 school girls). I can talk about what I witnessed behind the walls -- but I can tell you this with absolute certainty: the eyes Do Not lie. You will know when you are in the presence of pure evil.

  4. The Scott Peterson case always bothered me so much because of the name they chose for the baby. Too close to home for me. But they are all pretty creepy. What a different take on this one Brenda!!!:)

  5. I just watched a small production called Assassins that talked about all the freaks that killed or attempted to kill past presidents and one of the ladies was CRAZY about Manson.

I love that you didn't go with movies or plays.. but actual people. Makes one think. Great post!
