Two Shoes Tuesday - Secrets

TWO SHOES TUESDAYI read the prompt for this week's Two Shoe Tuesdays and immediately my mind went in at least five different directions... come on along for the ride:

Josie at Two Shoes in Texas hosts a Two Shoe Tuesday where she gives a prompt and wants us all to write, read, speak, show....etc... (you get the picture)....

this week the prompt is Secrets

SO... my first thought was... what a great way to re-advertise Skewered Halo... after all... this was the Press Release:
Psst! She’s Got a Secret!

Novel Uncovers the Truth

Why would one sister have it in for the other? Sibling rivalry is taken to the extreme in the breathtaking novel Skewered Halo.

Diane Newsome is the middle child born into a middle-class family. Her older sister, Brittany, has resented her from the moment she was born. Brittany convinces Diane that she was placed on the doorstep as an
unwanted child, and she dare not make a wrong move or she will lose her family. Years later, when Diane finally tells her parents what Brittany has claimed, they are aghast, yet her mother still sides with Brittany.

Skewered Halo is a thriller exploring the lies and treachery that can exist in families.

Join Diane as she discovers that her entire life has been a lie, resulting in murder and mayhem. It all enfolds in the dramatically enticing Skewered Halo.

But... then I started thinking about something else that has been happening around my house.... Since Michelle came back (2 months and counting).... she has been trying to catch up on all the shows she missed in her one year away ... (also trying to store up for the two more after her hubby comes back!) --- a different story for a different day ... ANYWAYS... we discovered Pretty Little Liars.... TALK ABOUT SECRETS!

Anyone watching that one??? It is so bad it is good....

And lastly my thought was this.... "A secret is no longer a secret once it is shared!"  Try to remember that next time you are told something in confidence.

Once again... thanks Josie for hosting this!!!

  3. Hi Brenda! You had all kinds of secret stuff here... great job! Your book sounds very intriguing. I never cease to be amazed about the twisted dynamics that can take place in families. I haven't heard of the tv show "Pretty Little Liars" but it must indeed involve secrets, we know what kinds of chaos they can create! And your final words of wisdom are right on target, how often have we heard "so and so told me...., but don't tell anyone..." and on the story goes! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us for Two Shoes Tuesday! I'll be back for Thursday Ponderings this week, I was enjoying my time away last week and didn't keep up with things very well! :-)

  4. Great post, Brenda! :) And best wishes for your Skewered Halo. Secrets can make for a breathtaking novel.
Secrets are exciting too, the little ones. The bigger secrets quite often carry with them a guilt trip for those in the know.
