So... in my travels through the blog-o-sphere I have come across some great people -- (wink, wink... you all know who I'm referring to...) You of course!
And this week while I was visiting my friend Janice I saw she had joined a new hop from Josie...It is a Tuesday hop, but I am a bit late this week... oh well....
here's the deal...Two Shoes Tuesday:
is hosted by Josie at Two Shoes in Texas and each week she will provide a one-word writing prompt and ask you to share a
short story, poem, essay, thought, or photo relating to that topic.
this week the prompt is Shoes
Now I have thought about this prompt for the past two days and I have to say that the thing I would like to share about shoes is my all time favorite quote:
I used to complain about having no shoes
until I met a man who had no feet
Please make sure and check out Josie's place and go check out all the other responses to her prompt...
I enjoyed them all and am sure you will too!

Ooh! I haven't been reminded of that quote for a long time and I love it so much! I think it really says it all about our perspective regarding what we have and don't, and how blessed we truly are. Perfect addition to the "shoes" prompt! Thank you so much for joining us for Two Shoes Tuesday... see you next week! :-) (I'll be posting the new prompt tomorrow!)
ReplyDeleteI completey agree.. and how much we need to stop griping about things!
DeleteI like that quote too, Brenda. That and 'walk in my shoes' are probably the most famous shoes quotes. Something about filling 'big shoes' comes close.
ReplyDelete..
lol... reminds me of clown shoes :)
DeleteI seriously hadn't heard that quote I really think it is Super, i am so glad you hopped over and wrote along :))
ReplyDeleteBrenda for the 1st time in my life I am reading a book that I just do not want to end, because once I read that last page that is it.
The Butterfly Cabinet is a truly and gripping intriguing book I LOVE it, this week while super sick I would read a few chapters and force myself to quit reading, I am usually a reader who when I like a book will read, read, and read until it is finished even if I read the whole night because I want to see what happens next but this is such a different read for me, thank you for passing this favorite forward I have 3 chapters left and I can barely hold back LOL
Oh Janice!
DeleteI felt the exact same way about the book and I am so glad you are enjoying it... the ending will not let you down (or maybe it will)
Something good to remember when complaining. I've found that no matter how awful I think my circumstances, there is someone who has "no feet". Thanks for reminding me of this quote. Today was an especially good day to be reminded of those things I should be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteDM.... I agree... however when we are wallowing in self pity it is difficult to remember this quote... I hope all is well.... <3
DeleteAn excellent quote to remind us all to have a better perspective, and to count our blessings.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I am thinking of those pink peep toes I saw on sale today too :)
Counting blessings... sometimes... costs more than they are worth (or is it??)
Deletepink peep toes... NOW where would you wear them???
Thank you for a reminder of this incredible quote. It should be all of our mottos as we travel through life, remembering all that we have and to be content.
ReplyDeleteawesome quote. I honestly had never heard it before.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great quote. I will forever appreciate feet, after two ankle surgeries in less than a year, not being able to walk...it really puts it into perspective. This quote highlights that. You don't realize how you take walking for granted...until you can't.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are joining us for Two Shoes Tuesday.
*PLEASE add my no-longer-new button to your side-bar! Ang get rid of my "bad" one!*
Sounds like an interesting hop and definitely a very good quote. Makes you think!
