I have been really busy... and I mean REALLLLLY busy... working about 60 hours a week. But I promised myself that I would see my grandson at least once a month. So we planned my going up on a Friday and coming home on a Saturday ... mind you that is a 3-1/2 hour trip ... one way!!!
Since I made the plans events unfolded that made it so that I could not leave Trixy (the beagle I am 'babysitting' until my daughter and son-in -law are stationed stateside) behind. SO I took a dog who was not familiar with traveling and went......
Let me make this perfectly clear......
they say that dogs have no concept of time...
dogs have no recollection...
they live in the moment...
REALLY???
How do you explain this after a 36 hour removal from my home? check out the video and tell me she isn't glad to be home......
it was a great trip and I am already figuring out how to do it again in October...
We stayed in a hotel... she slept through the night (except for the 3:30 AM walk in the bushes!)
she slept in the car.
She was a trooper!

I couldn't watch the video, but I know that dogs do have a sense of timing and they like their routine, so I would imagine Trixy was very glad to be back around familiar surroundings.
ReplyDeleteThat is a busy schedule you are doing Brenda! But I think it is neat that you are making the effort to see your little grandson and to start establishing a relationship with him; I'm sure he is adorable!
Glad to hear that Trixy is a good traveler; I'm sure subsequent trips will even get better!!
do take care of yourself; that is a grueling schedule!
betty
you can always go see the video on my facebook page....
Deleteand yes the schedule is quite grueling.... but I got to do whatI go to do!!!
Glad to see you're back and about the blogosphere.. I have missed you
hilarious video.....she really seemed to miss her own lil bed and blankies! ha ha
ReplyDeleteGood for you taking the time to see you grandson -- despite the big work hours. it will pay off in the end with how close you'll be to each other. My mom is about 2 hours away....and she visits more frequently than family 20 minutes down the road! But my children enjoy such a close bond with her because of it. so wonderful.
okay hon. so take so time to relax today, right?
love ya too much I'm not even upset there's no pic of your adorable grandson :)
xx
I really want to see him at least once a month.... who knows maybe down the road I'll just move closer to them!!!
Deleteand the pic of Ryan is on the other post... silly sis!!!
slow down and breathe Brenda that is going to catch up to you in the worst way. I am glad Trixy traveled so well the video didn't come up for me either .
ReplyDeleteThe time with the grand baby is so worth it :] have a great week & relax here & there okay?
Sometimes slowing down is over rated.....
