What a difference a week makes.....
or
Get ready for a huge whirlwind
Now I do know that this is supposed to only be six words... but I also realize that I am not posting as much as I had been so if I were reading this I would want an explanation....
In April I received custody of my daughter's dog - Trixy ... Michelle's husband was to deploy to Afghanistan at the beginning of June and she would come home for 9 months and this way the dog was already here. WELL... as soon as they went back to Germany they were told he would not be deploying... what to do with this dog????
Fast forward to Tuesday morning.... Michelle called and her husband is deploying for Afghanistan --- within the next two weeks!!! Good news... she is coming home and my world will get bigger again.... bad news... all of the rest of her friends have already left Germany - as their husbands have already deployed - and she has no way of doing all the necessary things - like turn in a car, get to the airport, clear out a house.... etc, etc, etc.... so "Mom, could you, would you, I really need you to come here and help me!" (Now you tell me what kind of a mother refuses that kind of a request???) --- So now we are waiting for an actual date Tonino is leaving and then I will be getting on a plane - probably a Wed night and coming home on Sunday - with daughter in tow!!!!
NOW as if that isn't enough drama... my first grandchild WAS due yesterday (like that past tense???) --- they are 3-1/2 hours away from me and I received a call at 4AM - but this was just the beginning - she is home now... but I am sure I will be a grandmother within the next 72 hours.... and the plan was for baby and mama to come stay with me for a week plus very soon after baby is born....
Do you see schedules colliding???? So, now Michelle gets to be a hands on Aunt!!! and I get my baby home!!! and Trixy gets her mommy back (who knows how that's going to go????) ... do dogs remember their first mommy???
AND to top this all off I am still commuting back and forth to work on a daily basis - a round trip of 120 miles!
Still wonder why the posts have been sparse????
I hope you all have a great weekend...and Happy 4th if I don't make it back... and YES I will post a picture of the baby when he arrives!!!!

wow Brenda!! How exciting though! That is once you get to take a breath; but things "should" settle down by the end of this month and then hopefully you'll be enjoying your new grandchild and having family somewhat more closer to you!

ReplyDeleteThanks... and will do!!!
DeleteHow cute, Brenda, soooo cute a (beagle??) pup! Mrs. Jim says first chance you help Trixy get back to her parents! Yes, you are a Super Mom!
ReplyDeleteWe have had Adi, our daughter's beagle dog, for 15 of her 16 years of age. Long story, read her meme below.
We have had Amber, our daughter's 19-year-old tiger cat, now for three years since she and her family moved to London.
We have Katrin, our deceased friend's toy poodle, since the friend died four years ago. Katrin was left to Mrs. Jim in the will. A week before she died she looked Mrs. Jim in the face and said, "Please don't give Katrin away."
I hope this and the links below help.
