Monday's Musings - Tax Day!

Happy 16th of April --- which just happens to be the next business day after the 15th of April... which makes today tax day~!  Did you pay your tax bill? Or did you get a refund? Which makes me wonder how those people who make so much money pay less (percentage wise) than I do!  What is wrong with this world????

Any how.... not the point of this post!!!!

My weekend... Friday was horrendous weather here in Southern California... albeit nothing like the midwest ..... wonder what would happen if the Southern California coast got tornadoes???? Wouldn't that just make huge water funnels and then cause even more problems??? Well.... we had rain, and thunder, and lightning and wind and it was cold!!! Which made me feel really bad for anyone who was living on the streets... For every time we complain about our situations it makes me realize how lucky I really am.... Even though luck has very little to do with as I work my butt off.... but that is not to say that I couldn't have taken a bad turn somewhere and ended up with nothing...  Which leads me to Saturday when I went back to the streets - - - - first time in two weeks so it was nice catching up with my 'friends'!

AND then Sunday morning my daughter left to go back to Germany.  My son in law deploys for Afghanistan in less than two months and then she will be back.  I cried when I gave my sil a hug good-bye and can't help but wonder what the heck we're doing over there in the first place!!!!  I also had to shake my head when I think about ME driving them to the airport when his parents live very close to me... why didn't they take him????  BUT oh well, mine is not to question why.....

As far as the two babies are going... they are doing very well... thank you for asking.... Here is there latest portrait  (and yes... that is MY bed!)

How was your weekend?

  1. Love the picture! Looks like they're getting along. The weather was horrid here this weekend too and today doesn't look to be much better.

  2. We actually have until tomorrow to file taxes :) We are getting ours done tonight, LOL. It was a wild weekend here for weather; thankful yesterday was nice and next week is suppose to be gorgeous! Maybe your SIL's parents don't like goodbyes in public places? That was nice of you though to drive them to the airport; I'm sure it was hard to say goodbye!

  3. I'll have to post a picture of my two pooches together... big and small. It's the cutest. I hope, that your SIL will stay safe. I would have cried, too. I'm sure it won't be easy when he leaves but at least your daughter will come back and have you and not all alone in Germany.

    1. I used to think it was funny whenever I saw two dogs together that were different sizes... but as these two become better friends it just seems natural.
They look for each other all the time!

  4. so glad the hubby takes care of the taxes. cause I don't make any money.
and yet, we owe. 3 children, 1 income...and we owe. gotta love how the world goes round.
but yes, warm and dry - and basically have the bed to myself - haha! so I'll certainly pay the bill, and count my blessings as they be.

    1. Isn't that the truth? Why is it that those of us who work hard end up paying taxes and those in power don't?
