I'M WAGING WAR AGAINST THE SNAILS

I've had it! I'm done! My plants are being eaten up into tiny little bits and I go out in the morning and the snails are Everywhere! Buy This Allposters.com
They are in the dog bowl, they are in her water bowl...their slimy little trails are trailing across the grass and the sidewalk...now mind you my yard is not that big...but these snails have got to go!!!
I can't put poison out in the back yard - the dog will get into it - So I launch them into the park! But they keep coming back!
Now...I am a peaceful woman - I take spiders out of my house and put them in the backyard ---
Can someone please tell me ---- What good are snails? Buy This Allposters.com

Before I read the whole post, I thought you were writing at a snail's pace! LOL
ReplyDeleteDon't the French eat them?? (LOL) Honestly, I don't know what good they are either. Good luck in trying to get rid of them!
ReplyDeleteI have one good personal thing. Okay we don't have them visit very often, although the little tree frogs are everywhere, yes in the cat bowl, I had a floater the other morning, poor thing, but snails, now they are delightful to us, who usually only get to see their shells discarded...and once on a girl scout trip when the girls found one with a living creature inside, their girl scout troop leader yelled horribly that we could not touch it! It was on the endangered list and we'd be in a heap of trouble if the DNR (who really is he lurking around the corner?!) to write us a ticket, oh no!
ReplyDeletesnails are disgusting and do not taste good! :P
ReplyDeletei enjoy the changes you've made to your blog! :D
Repeat (repeatedly) after me: OM
ReplyDeleteWhat good are snails? Dunno, unless they're to make things like dung-beetles look prettier.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the war - remember, you're bigger than they are!
Hmmm... maybe you could train the snails to eat only weeds.
ReplyDelete(Personally, I like snails, edible and non..:-)
Hmmmm? I don't know what good are snails???I may have to google them and find out!
ReplyDeleteBecause now you have me wondering! (:>)
*LOL* You are funny.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I already did that and could find no good use for snails other than eating them. They're pretty much considered pests everywhere. Not by me, I like 'em!
ReplyDeleteI hear people will pay big bucks for Escargot. Mind you, I'm not one of them. We don't have a problem with snails, just slugs.
ReplyDeleteNow you could handle your snail problem as Leif attempted to solve ours (http://janiesplace.wordpress.com/category/grody-to-the-max/), or you could just go buy some Eliminator Snail and Slug Bait from the Walmart which we resorted to when his midnight slug hunting raids became futile. We have a dog, and we've had no problems, and it works great on the slugs.
I agree - snails have no purpose and the slime is gross. Love the new look of your blog, nice and bright and happy
ReplyDeletehmmm...I see I have started a nice snail debate in my day of absence....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice Janie
And Thanks Fi!
Ummm... I can count the number of snails I have EVER seen on one hand. I hope you find a solution. This sounds like a slimy problem.
ReplyDeleteAlexis,
ReplyDeleteYou either live a very sheltered life... or live in a cement city! LOL
There speaks a woman at the end of her tether. Goid luck with finding a solution :)
ReplyDeleteLOL....
ReplyDeleteyou question the Creation? tsk, tsk!! i am sure they have their place in this world, just not in your garden. birds must find them tasty, i do like them on my dinner plate when done properly. but if you can relocate them elsewhere, that'd be nice, and safer for your dog.
ReplyDeletebut you sound like my friend who is invaded by treefrogs. she also went out to war against those... not pretty!!!
good luck!
:D~
HUGZ
they might have their place in the the world...they just don't have their place in MY world !!! LOL
ReplyDeleteNow tree frogs.... I might rather enjoy them!
Isn't that just like human nature though...we would rather have someone else's problems...even if just for a day...
Reminds me of one of my favorite sayings...
"I used to complain about having no shoes until I met a man who had no feet."
Have a wonderful week!
nice saying!!
ReplyDeletejust keep that in mind next time you toss those snails in the park...
and those treefrogs were actually driving my friend and her boyfriend rather mad. it's not just one or two we're talking here...
:D~
HUGZ
I'll keep that in mind....just don't want to be the one to step on them with no shoes on ..... tee hee hee ......
ReplyDeleteOH, GROSSSSSS!!!
ReplyDeletethis idea while i'm having my first morning coffee...
i think i'll skip breakfast this morning...
