WOW 100 Weekly Words - and I'm a day late!

It is Thursday and I normally do this hop on time and post it on Wednesday for my friend Ruthi at Ruthi Reads for her weekly WOW of 100 words. But I've been feeling a bit under the weather and I don't she'll be too upset with me being a day behind.
The weekly WOW of 100 words is where we talk about the books we are currently reading and share 100 words of that book so we can tantalize our readers.

I received Long Drive Home by Will Allison from my Free Press Blog Tours group off of Book Bloggers. And just the cover makes you want to open up the book and dive right in.   
SO.... I decided for my 100 words this week I would use the first 100 words of the book!

Dear Sara,

It’s hard for me to imagine the person you’ll be when you read this--- probably on your way to college and a life of your own. Sometimes that feels like forever away. But other times—when you get into the care wearing your mom’s perfume, or shush me distractedly as you study the men at a diner, or manage to throw a baseball that goes exactly where you want it to – I feel time racing by so fast I can hardly breathe. Not knowing where things will stands between us ten years from now or how this letter ….
